Crew Dragon's controls and flight information are arrayed on three large touch screens facing the commander and pilot, as you can see in these photos of the vehicle's cockpit simulator.

This simulator will familiarize you with the controls of the actual interface used by NASA Astronauts to manually pilot the SpaceX Dragon 2 vehicle to the International Space Station.

In the background is the first SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket first stage ever to successfully land during an orbital mission.

“Anyone who has within them the spirit of exploration should be excited about what’s going on.” The launch is only possible thanks to painstakingly designed hardware and software, the creation of which is lightly documented in two new videos from SpaceX.

"For any tester out there, the opportunity to be early on in the development and testing of a program is a dream come true," Hopkins said. The Crew Dragon that will perform the uncrewed test mission to the ISS this fall, by the way, is already being prepped for flight at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

In 2002 he thought there was a “90% chance we would fail to ever get to lower Earth orbit.” Now, SpaceX is poised at Kennedy Space Center’s iconic Launchpad 39A, the location where man first took off for the moon, to launch its first humans into space. So, the craft's commanders and pilots won't do much active flying during missions to and from the ISS, if all goes according to plan. But when astronauts do take the "wheel," the experience will be more akin to operating an iPad than flying a space shuttle or fighter jet.

“Today is about reigniting the dream of space and getting people fired up about the future,” says SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, emphasizing that the Falcon 9 Crew Dragon launch scheduled for May 30, 2020, should inspire people from all walks of life to imagine the future’s vast possibilities.
