I am a former student at Norfolk State University and benefited from his endeavors to build NSU into the institution that it is today.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Kentwood Christian Church, 5841 Kalamazoo, with Pastor Patrick Gill officiating. The late Harrison B. Wilson III, executive director of the Hard Road to Glory sports hall of fame, was photographed at the 6th St. Many knew Dr. Wilson for his lifetime of organizational leadership, not on So sorry to hear of his death. WILSON, Harrison "Glen" Wilson, age 86 of Wyoming, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, November 6, 2008. He was a giant in the Educational Community and will be solely missed. It was a pleasure to have known him and worked with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wilson Family during this time of depletion and loss. The current university president, Javaune Adams-Gaston, sent a letter to the Spartan community about Wilson's death. He was known for his love of this world and his grace among his brothers.His loving and continuous devotion to the "Green and Gold" of Norfolk State University students, faculty and staff James Edwards, lll Dr. Wilson always explained his life in the context of his past, positing that his achievements were rooted long before his birth on April 21, 1925. Dr. Harrison B. Wilson II, former president of Norfolk State University, has passed from this life after 94 fulfilling years. May God continue to bless the entire family, during this time of loss. He is survived by his wife Rose, his children, Kathleen Larry Earegood, Susan Helms, Martin Madaline Wilson, David Karla Lunsford and Janet Thomas Furman; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; his sisters Doris Campbell and Mary Zimmerman; in-laws, Doris Jerry Magle, Robert Charlene McKinnon and Patricia Hill and several nieces and nephews.
